Friday 15 September 5:00 - 7.30pm
Welcome function at Dee Why RSL Club
An informal reception will be held either in the club's open courtyard or on the club's patio. THIS IS WHERE CLUBS WILL PICK UP THEIR CARNIVAL PACKS, including wrist bands, programs, and other items for the weekend. We ask that a delegate from each club attend to pick up their gear and meet the other delegates and competitors. As this event begins at 5:00 p.m., food will be available at the club throughout the evening, and drinks will be priced at RSL bar prices.
Saturday 16 September 12 noon
Informal Warm Up Swim
Dive into the refreshing waters of Isa Wye Pool at Dee Why point, the home pool of the Dee Why Icepicks for an informal warm-up swim. This hidden gem is the perfect spot to kickstart your Australian National Title preparation. Get ready to make a splash in style, in this magnificent 50-meter, 8-lane oceanfront rock pool. Get ready to make a splash and warm up for the Championship carnival the next day, because the lanes ropes will be out and all clubs are more than welcome to join in.
Saturday 16 September 3pm-6pm
Whisky and Gin Tasting
There will be a Whisky and Gin Tasting taking place at the Goodradigbee Distillery in Brookvale.
Goodradigbee is a recently established boutique distillery located on the Northern Beaches. It has gained recognition for its exceptional quality and has received several prestigious awards. Notably, Goodradigbee is proud to be one of the sponsors for the upcoming 2023 Winter Swimming titles organised by Dee Why Ice Picks.
Owner John O'Connor warmly invites everyone to the distillery, where they can enjoy sampling his latest creations - both Gin and Whisky. The distillery is located in a newly renovated and refurbished factory in Brookvale, providing a delightful and friendly atmosphere for all visitors.
Sunday 17 September
Australian National Titles
The venue for this year's titles is the Warringah Aquatic Centre, an indoor facility with eight lanes. The Aquatic Centre, operated by the Northern Beaches council, is proud to be a sponsor of the 2023 Australian titles and extend a warm welcome to all participants and attendees.
The official opening of the carnival will take place poolside at 10am. We have arranged for the Mayor of Northern Beaches, Sue Heins, to officially open the carnival. Prior to the opening, there will be a welcome to Country by a local indigenous elder, followed by the national anthem performed by the local men's choir, Voice Male.
Following the completion of the titles the festivities will continue at Dee Why RSL for the presentation and a delicious buffet lunch. After the function ends, competitors and supporters can continue their evening at the Club, which offers a variety of bars and eateries. Additionally, the Dee Why area is home to numerous other eateries, pubs, and bars for everyone to enjoy.
Pool Entry & Presentation Function Ticket Packages
The presentation function tickets will cost $55.00 for competitors and will cover pool entry as well as a ticket to the presentation function at the Dee Why RSL.
