Who We Are
The Forster/Tuncurry Mudcrabs Winter Swimming Cub was established in 1980 and was originally known as The Cold Tooths. We are a club of around 60 members with our oldest being 91 and youngest 15 years old. We promote the ourselves as a family club and encourage the whole family to participate. We swim at the iconic Forster Ocean Pool and can be found there most days of the year but particularly between May and September when our races start at 9.00am; all are welcome to come and join us.

The “Mudcrabs” are in their 34th year of winter swimming with our oldest member, Bruce Kellow, being 87 and our youngest (honorary), Harper Cusack, 6mths old. We were originally known as the Cold Tooths but changed our name in the mid eighties.
Obviously members come and go over the years but we boast a high percentage of swimmers who have been with the club for decades, such is the nature of the club.
We have a membership of around 50 and meet from the first Sunday in May ‘till the last Sunday in September. We’re a small club which offers the kind of camaraderie which benefits all of our members as well as having a strong focus on family.
