UMINA BLUE SWIMMERS
MEN'S WINTER SWIMMING CLUB . INC.
FOUNDED 1968

About Us

The Umina Blue Swimmers was formed in 1968 and will celebrate our 50th year of continuous operations in 2018,with a major celebration. The Bluey’s season starts on the last Sunday in April with a Welcome to New Members swim and BBQ under the pine trees at Pearl Beach. Competition starts on the first Sunday of May and swimming events take place in the 30mtr Pearl Beach rock pool, Club Championships are held on the first Sunday in September.

After swim breakfast is supplied at the Ocean Beach Surf Club, with the traditional soup, toast and BBQ for all members and guests.
We have about 50-60 members enrolled, with about 45 on average swimming each Sunday. We encourage junior members (under 18) and have 17 enrolled in 2017. The UBS participate in the Northern Districts Championships each year, consisting of 9 clubs from Umina to Port Macquarie, and have hosted this event twice in recent years. (2015 & 2015)

As the name indicates, we are a Male swimming club, but to conform with public perception, we do not ban Females, but we have had not had any approaches from the fairer sex to join.!! (Yet)
