Beatty Park Bears

Commencing on the first Thursday after Easter and continuing until the first week of October each year, the Beatty Park Bears meet weekly on Thursday at 12 noon for a varied swim program comprising timed handicap swim races over 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m. Swims are 100m and 50m one day, 200m and 50m on another day, rotated weekly followed by a coffee at the pool café. The 400m swim is held on the first Thursday of the month followed by a lunch at the pool café or at a local pub.
 
Points are allocated on a 10 down to 1 basis with a point for each swim and the monthly winner receives an embroidered towel.
 
Beatty Park Bears has membership of some 35 swimmers.
